Peru was the setting for the latest series of poker tournaments for Ladies International Poker Series. The events ran from Aug 25th to Sept 1st and all tournaments were no limit hold’em action. The buy-in fees to the early events ranged in price from $230 to $550. There was also a $175 satellite to the $1,080 main event.

The ladies also had lots of time to see the sights while they were in the country. It is only legal to play poker in Peru from 6:00pm to 6:00am, so tournaments don’t start until the evening. The ladies had all day to check out the sights before they got to work at the tables.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be expanding into Latin America,” said Lupe Soto, founder of the LIPS Tour. “Our goal is to create great poker opportunities and amazing venues in which to play the game as well.”
